Are you new to Phoenix and ready to plunge into the local scene, meet new people, and soak up the local culture? Monday - On Monday’s try Firebirds for their Wine Down Mondays between 11am and 10pm when all bottles of wine are half price. If wine’s not your thing, check out their happy hour to lift your Monday blues.
Wednesday - Head over to Tempe to Club Red Swing on Wednesday nights between 7:30 and 8:30 to get a $5 swing dance lesson. This charge covers the lesson and the dancing afterwards. You don’t have to have a partner or be an expert dancer. Just bring yourself and $5 and have some fun.
Thursday - “Art”ini Thursdays at Hotel Indigo in Scottsdale is a great place to meet new people. The night includes decorating your own martini glass, $7 signiture martinis, and discounted priced appetizers. Also, the parking’s free!
Friday - Want a little more excitement on your Friday night? Check out Friday Night Bull Riding between 7:30 and 9:00pm when tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids. You can even participate if you’re interested. Just contact R.C. Mercer Livestock and Rodeo.
Saturday - Every Saturday the Downtown Phoenix Public Market sets up shop on the southeast corner of Central Avenue and McKinley Street just 2 blocks south of Roosevelt between 8A.M. and 12P.M. You’ll find fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers. Not to mention a host of other agricultural products like honey, coffee, and dairy. Homeade jams and baked goods can also be found at this open market. It’s also open on Wednesdays from 4:00-8:00P.M.
Sunday - Take your kids out to the ballpark for Kid’s Sunday’s with the Diamondbacks. They’ll enjoy giveaways, eat for free with a coupon from the East Valley Tribune, and get to run the bases after the game.
There is so much to see and do in the Phoenix area, you could leave your apartment seven days a week for months on end and still not see it all.
